Panang, Penang or Panaeng, However you chose to spell it, is traditionally a lovely thick rich and spicy Thai curry, that is made with fresh Panang paste that contains ingredients such as: Aromatic Kafir lime peel, toasted cumin seeds, fragrant lemongrass, and shallots. Our very own Mae Ja Panang sauce is a testament to this delicious spicy Thai curry, We fuse together all of these exotic Thai ingredients in a velvety rich coconut milk to create a harmony of delicious Thai flavours just waiting to be explored.

Similar to our Thai Red Curry Sauce, Panang really comes to life when paired with rich red meats such as Beef topside or fillet steak, Duck breast and Lamb fillet. But this is not a limitation because it can really be enjoyed with any meats of your choice. The deep red colour really screams decadence and thus we love to prepare our Panang curries for a special occasion with our best cuts of lean meat. As for the vegetables, keep it simple, Red and green peppers, carrots and onions should be fine.

Beef Topside or fillet, Lamb Fillet, Pork Fillet, Venison, Duck breast with or without bone, Large pieces of fried tofu.

This sauce is a medium heat, it can be considered fairly spicy for some people but not spicy enough for others. If you prefer a much spicier Panang curry then be sure to add our toasted spicy chilies to your order

Cooking Instructions
1) Shake jar
before opening.
2) Empty contents
into a saucepan. Use a splash of water in the jar to get every bit out.
3) Add your hard
vegetables first and gently bring to the boil, stirring regularly.
4) Add sliced
prepared meats of your choice and softer vegetables.
5) Reduce the heat
down to a gentle simmer and allow time for all the ingredients to cook
thoroughly.
6) Once cooked
take off the heat, Stir in some fresh basil and serve in a bowl with a simple garnish
of more fresh basil on top.
7) Enjoy with
boiled white Thai jasmine rice.
